Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)

The direct costs attributable to the production of the goods sold by a company.

COGS is the accumulation of the direct costs that go into the goods sold by your company. This includes both direct labor costs, and any direct costs of materials used in producing or manufacturing your goods. In crypto, COGS can be relevant for miners, who have direct costs in mining hardware, electricity, and maintenance.

Example:

Calculating the COGS for a Bitcoin mining operation.
